What I like about technology

I think technology can be a wonderful tool- especially in the classroom! What better way to connect with others and gain new information while doing something that most students like. The internet can act as a great resource of information. Blog's and podcasts can help student's by helping them connect with other students; sharing ideas and opinions. Video tools can be a fun way of creating project based learning activities and assessments. All of these examples use a Constructivism approach which focuses on the doing. Students are better interested and engaged when they are given tasks or projects. Technology helps to promote this.

I am glad to be taking this class. I believe that to be a highly effective teacher I should have an understanding of the technology that is available to myself and my students.
